GREETINGS...

"Lighten up as the day awakens, shine brighter as the world grows dim, cheering on and never forsaken, as there's you and me, her and him..."

‘The Blush”
He is staring again.  He looks away.  He blushes slightly.  He stole another glance and folded his hands on the table.  I turn my head to look at him.  He was not looking at me, but he blushes even deeply.  The corner of my mouth lifted just a fraction.  He’s definitely cute.  His blushes entice me and I love watching them.  He has a deep voice.  I know, I know.  I shouldn’t be even thinking about it but I can’t help it. He’s just too attractive and he seems to be completely oblivious to it.
“Miss… excuse me… Miss!”  I was startled back to reality.  I looked up to see a confused young man holding out a paper.
“Ah… yes.  Which one is it?”  I smiled and immediately reached out for the paper.
“This question Miss.  Why does it say, ‘floating on a pink candy cloud’?
Smiling even wider, I started explaining.  At the corner of my eye, I could see that he was smiling as well.  Hmm… did I get caught staring?

“Are you kidding me?!”  A shocked Tiara stared right at me.  I laughed.  I knew she would be.  It was the first time that I actually did tell her about my ‘staring’ game.
“No Tee, I am not.”  I bit into my chicken sandwich and looked up to the blue sky.  It has been three months since we noticed each other looking at each other.
“So, what are you going to do about it?”  Tiara was surely interested now.  I continued to look at the sky.  I smiled and shook my head.  A cool breeze started blowing softly.  My eyes strayed to the tree we were sitting under.
It was a beautiful Sunday morning and it was perfect for a picnic out on the nearby park.  My long time best friend who also happened to be my housemate decided that we worked too hard.  She packed a basket of food and literally dragged and pushed me into her car.
“Why are you shaking your head?”  Her eyes were on me as she tried to understand my body language.
“I am not going to do anything about it Tee.”  I finally decided.
            “What?”  She asked.  I smiled.
“Why?”  She asked again.  It took me sometimes to answer but she waited patiently.
            “He’s a student.”  I said.
            “Oh…”

The bell rang.  I picked up my box of books and headed straight out of the building.  I unlocked my car and bent to place the box of books on the backseat of the car.
“Miss Lisa.”  A deep voice startled me from behind.  I turned and saw him holding out a piece of paper.  I reached out for the paper.
“It fell from one of the books you were carrying just now.”  He explained.  I nodded.  I could see that he was starting to blush.  I smiled.
“You blush so easily Chris.”  I said.  I was shocked that the words just came out so easily.  I could see that he was shocked as well.  His blush reached his face.  He was so adorable.
“Yeah, see you.”  He muttered and turned to walk away.
“Thank you.”  I called out.  He just waved his hand without looking back.  I wish he would turn back once.  My heart was calling out desperately for him to turn back just once.  Turn back!  My heart screamed.  Then when he reached at the far end of the building… he turned.  My heart soared.  My mood lightens.  It was my last day in this institution.  I was moving to another college.  I looked down on the piece of paper.

The air was filled with excitement.  Proud parents were everywhere taking pictures with their loved ones.  Young graduates wearing wide smiles and holding their diplomas were talking and laughing loudly.  My fingers tightened on the bookmark I was holding.  I have prepared well.  The bouquet of flowers I was holding in my other hand was fresh and in full bloom.  Among all these graduates I was looking for only one face.  A path opened.  Him.  He was laughing and talking to a group of his friends.  One of them notices me and immediately tapped on his shoulder and said something to him.  He froze and turned.  He blushes bright red and started towards me with a widening smile.
*                      *                      *
“You read the message.”  He stated.  He was going to blush, I know.  I could see it coming up his neck towards his ears.
“Was it a message?”  I asked playfully.  He looked over at me.  His hand reached over to touch my face.  I felt a hot wave coming up the back of my neck towards my face.
“You are blushing.”  He said before he hugged me tightly against him.  My fingers tightened on the bookmark I was still holding in my hand.
Lisa,
Come for my graduation and I will know that you came for me.
Love, Chris

OLD MAIDEN

I was playing around with words when my lightbulb sprang into life today, I am not sure where this came from as this spurt of inspiration came when I was busy invigilating for Monthly Test 3 over at Labuan International School... Whoever reads this, enjoy.

OLD MAIDEN

Just there over that ocean,
way beyond that horizontal line,
that's where I should have gone.
Gone with him who once was mine.

Had only I honestly spoken,
Loneliness would never be a stain,
Had only I earnestly listened,
To him who was there in pain.

Now suddenly, everything seemed dim.
A future so silently forgone.
Swallowed in regret, so firm,
Asking, "Will I be forever alone?"

The beginner's beginning...

"Aspiring to be inspired by what we take for granted everyday..."

I am new at this and I hope that one of these days, I will not feel the awkwardness of beginning something I never do before.

Be patient with my stumbles... Thank you.
